WE EQUIP LEADERS TO PLANT HEALTHY CHURCHES.

A missionary is a messenger of the church equipped, tested, and approved by the church, sent out and accountable to the church.

Lubangakene Ministries Uganda (LMU) is a non-profit organization that exists to train church leaders and facilitate church planting across Uganda and beyond. Rooted in God’s Word and led by the Holy Spirit, we seek to build self-replicating, healthy churches that apply biblical wisdom to every area of life and community. Guided by our core values—faithfulness to Scripture, commitment to the Great Commission, Christ-like service, devotion to prayer, and transformation through relationships—we equip believers to live out the gospel with integrity and compassion. Our mission is to see lives and communities transformed through the power of God’s Word and the love of Christ.

WE ARE PROMOTING:

Our faith is based on a specific message revealed in the Bible.

Entrusting God's word to reliable men who are qualified to teach others

Following Christ and helping others follow Him.

Establishing new communities of believers.

OUR RHYTHM

Personal and Mass Evangelism

Personal evangelism is the believer’s call to share the gospel through prayer, love, and obedience to God’s Word. It’s not about methods or results but faithfully presenting Christ through Scripture, personal testimony, and Spirit-led compassion. Every Christian is responsible to proclaim salvation and trust God for transformation. “Mass evangelism” is making the gospel known to a large mass of people gathered in one place. Both these approaches are still viable in our context so we aim to utilise them.

Instruction and Relational Discipleship

Whether it is instruction given in a classroom setting, a Bible study group discussion, or one-on-one counseling, discipleship is the heart of the Christian life—following Christ and helping others follow Him. It involves teaching, modeling, correction, and love, all rooted in humility and dependence on God’s power. Through faithful relationships, believers grow together toward maturity in Christ, reflecting His character and guiding one another toward eternal life.

Theological and Leadership Training

Theological training equips our church leaders to build ministries grounded in Scripture rather than imitation or cultural tradition. The lack of sound doctrine leaves churches vulnerable to false teachings like the prosperity gospel and syncretism. By teaching biblical truth, training local pastors, and strengthening discipleship, theological education glorifies God, establishes healthy churches, and prepares believers to fulfill the Great Commission—reaching their communities and the nations with the transforming truth of God’s Word.

Establishment of New Churches

Church planting is the biblical work of establishing new communities of believers through evangelism, discipleship, and leadership training. Rooted in the New Testament model, it seeks to form self-sustaining, gospel-centered churches that glorify God and multiply His mission. Our approach aims to preach and teach God’s Word, organize local congregations, and equip them to grow, serve, and send others—continuing the cycle of gospel expansion as seen in the ministry of the apostle Paul.

TESTIMONIES

I grew up in a Catholic family, feeling secure because I was religious, attended church, and gave offertory on Sundays. Yet my life never changed—I was comfortable in sin, thinking confession made everything right. After a year at LMU, I learned that forgiveness comes only through Christ’s finished work, not religious acts. God convicted me of my sin and saved me.

"My life had been broken by alcohol abuse, but God reached me in the midst of my drunkenness. I first went to church while still struggling, yet the persistence and care of the leaders at LMU kept me coming back. Over time, I came to understand the gospel. God rescued me, forgave my sin, and set me free."

"I grew up indifferent to spiritual things, but one day I attended an evangelistic outreach held during the World Cup final. I went just to watch the game, but that night the gospel was preached, and God opened my heart to see His greatness and my sin. By His grace, He saved me."
